Full-time (direct hire) position with a solid company. It is responsible for leading 5 developers on the Distributed Systems Development team (C# .NET, Java, VB, SQL Server). It requires a strong technical background along with fairly strong management/supervisory experience. It is not a coding position however; you will be required to perform code reviews. Interact with customers and other Systems department personnel to design, develop and maintain business applications that effectively support our business customers. Recommends continuous technical improvements in business function. Develop schedules, coordinate plans and report status with limited supervision for project work related to the business. Provides estimates for Work Requests/modifications to assigned function. Provide strong technical leadership for Distributed software development including mentoring of developers. |
- BS in Computer Science or a closely related field or equivalent software development experience in the areas of systems design/analysis, project management and applications development, delivery and support.
- 10 years of IT experience including 5 years in a management role (mentoring, leading, hiring, firing, employee evaluations, team building, etc.)
- Conversant in multiple programming languages and development platforms
- 3+ years experience developing software in an object-oriented language like C#, Java, C++
- 1+ years experience working in a Technical Lead/Lead Developer role leading a distributed software development team
- Experience with web-based development (HTML, JavaScript)
- Experience developing in XML-related technologies (e.g., XML, DTD, XML Schema, XSLT, XQuery, XPath)
- Experience developing web services & related technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, WS-I Basic Profile)
- Strong Project Management skills including the ability to coordinate, through the full project life cycle, the efforts of project team members including end-users, vendors and internal systems staff.
- Strong analysis and design skills with a focus on system design and flow.
- Experience with designing and implementing high volume, mission critical, productions systems.
- Must be a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency in an aggressive, multi-tasking environment.
